Home to the country’s second busiest airport and the top two cargo seaports – and with ambitious expansion goals for all three – California is in the midst of a booming period for capital improvements.
From airports and seaports to correction facilities and office buildings, more than $150 billion in public works projects are underway or in the pipeline, according to organizers of the California Construction Expo (CalCon).
The July 18-19 event at the Anaheim Convention Center is expected to draw more than 1,000 industry professionals along with representatives of state government agencies overseeing public works projects.
The Expo brings together a broad array of construction industry professionals including contractors, engineers, architects, material and equipment suppliers, trade union representatives, and lenders.
Workshops will include discussions of various ongoing infrastructure improvements such as the 405 Improvement Project, the OC Streetcar Project, the Port of Long Beach expansion, and various airport projects.
